Bobby Kinnar first transgender councilor of Municipal Corporation of Delhi: Popular Aam Aadmi Party candidate Bobby Kinnar has won from Sultanpuri-A ward number 42 of Delhi MCD, and will be the first transgender member of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi. This was the first time that the Aam Aadmi Party fielded a transgender and defeated the Ekta Jatav of the Bharatiya Janata Party.
The Aam Aadmi Party fielded Bobby Kinnar by not giving the ticket of former councilor Sanjay.
In the year 2017, Bobby Kinnar contested as an independent candidate in the MCD elections in Delhi and alone gave competition to parties like BJP, AAP and Congress. However, she had to face defeat in this election. Bobby is the president of the Delhi unit of the Hindu Yuva Samaj Ekta Awam Atankwad Virodhi Samiti.
Bobby was part of the Anna movement, from that time Delhi Chief Minister and AAP convenor Arvind Kejriwal knew Bobby.
